Titanium is used in many industries: aerospace, automotive, medical, dental, sporting goods, jewelry, mobile phones and many other applications.Titanium was discovered in 1791 and named after the Titans of Greek mythology. The element occurs within mineral deposits which are widely distributed in the earth’s crust and is found in almost all living things, rocks, water bodies, and soils.
We now carry an assortment of amazing titanium mesh necklaces in three different widths and many colors.
Large Titanium Mesh Necklaces
Our titanium necklaces are available in18”, 22” and 24” lengths and come in multiple colors. These are stand-alone necklaces and can be used with one of our designs or pieces already in your collection. This mesh is 1” wide but can be widened to 2″ by using your thumbs and fore-fingers (no nails) and gently stretching it. The necklaces are actually a coil and if you feel carefully you can find the seam. You can open it flat, twist it or create a wave effect by pulling the mesh apart, turning it slightly and open it again or only open it in a few places for an asymmetrical look. You can also hold a pendant in place by stretching the mesh on either side of it. Every time you expand it, it becomes shorter.
To return the mesh to its original coil, gently pull the ends away from each other and roll the coil between your palms. Their lengths are adjustable, the more you expand the coil the shorter it becomes by as much as 2”.
The clasp is opened by pushing the two ends together, twisting them separately and then pulling them apart. To close, do the same thing.
Smaller Titanium Mesh Pendants
A number of pendants are now available with a narrower mesh either ¼” or ½” in width. These meshes have the same attributes as the larger mesh. They are available in black, white and gold. They are also a coil and able to be expanded, rolled and twisted. It will come to you in a flat condition but because they are narrower it is a good idea to leave a small section flat so it will be easier to expand it again. These pendants are adjustable from 16″ -18″ because there is a small piece of chain opposite the clasp with larger links so it can be clasped at any point. The sterling crimps used to hold the clasp and chain onto the mesh are both glued and crimped to ensure its strong attachment.
